The heavy fuel oil comes from a collision between a Maltese bulk carrier Golden Trader and the Belgian fishing boat Vidar off the coast of Denmark on September 10.
Workers have been battling the rough weather all week to clean up the oil in the water and on land.
The jet stream carried the oil from the coast of Denmark to Tjörn and other parts of the Gothenburg archipelago on the west coast.
