According to its website, the company helps identify education needs within the offshore industry and sets up training programs accordingly.
The company has seen increased demand for personnel who can repair damage to oil platforms.
"There've been tough storms in the North Sea this winter, so we're counting on a lot of extra repairs," Eriksson tells TTELA, adding that workers are also needed to finish expansions made for new oil discoveries in northern Norway.
Mechanics, technicians, painters, electricians, welders and planners are needed, according to the company.
"We are a little surprised that the talk is only Saab's engineers – that people don't see the competence that the carmakers, themselves, have," Eriksson tells TTELA. "They know electronics, hydraulics, and a lot of other things that are marketable in different branches of industry."
The company is currently looking for a site to house its program and aims to start up its training on February 1.
