In terms of pure numbers, snow will be less abundant on Tuesday than last Sunday—some 5-10cm will fall at most, says YLE meteorologist Marjo Hoikkanen. However, the blizzard will get an extra boost from brisk winds.
As the day progresses, snowfalls will gradually abate in the west. Most of the white stuff is to fall on the area stretching from Central Finland to Lapland, in Finland's Far North, over Northern Ostrobothnia. The blizzard should finally quiet down in the east in the early hours of Wednesday.
Fresh snow is in the forecast for Wednesday, however.
