Photographer Elise Jacob is drawn to the Aboriginal peoples of Canada and has travelled to Kuujuak and Kuujuarapik in Nunavik, Canada where she participated in a maritime expedition between Kuujuak and Churchill, Manitoba, and more recently up to Baffin Island. There she immortalized the daily life of northern peoples through her photography.

She is also the photographer for the Dalai Lama Foundation and documents all of the Dalai Lama's trips to Canada. In the past, she has volunteered for organizations such as Child Haven International in Madras, India, and Mother Teresa's mission in Calcutta, also in India.
